It makes one wish that it was a through street west of this project. (By the way - I was joking re: the shadow). The best thing about this project is that it made excellent use of a somewhat awkward site. It's not nearly as difficult to place a tower or building on a vacant corner lot - 1) pull out pattern book, 2) choose design X - but this site afforded some challenges and therefore helped to create a project of interest.

I hadn't really thought about it until you pointed it out. As I see it, that's the only flaw (and a very minor one at that) for an otherwise perfect project. Of course, there was no way around the shadow (which is certainly not a big deal). You're right, they made great use of a slightly awkward site, very exciting to see. Anyone know who the architect was?

Sounds like a great project. Nice to see it moving along.
The public parking garage is now open, although the garage attendant looked pretty lonely today. Cost: $2 for the first 30 minutes, $1 for each additional 30 minutes, maximum $24 per day.

Yes, I was born and raised in St. Louis (CWE). $2 for the first 30 minutes with every additional 30 minutes at $1 is higher than the Schlafly Library parking garage, and most certainly higher than the parking meters. If someone plans on eating for a hour or more it would be about the same cost of valet service provided by some Maryland/Euclid restaurants.

^ It's a new high for this end of Euclid, reflecting increased demand. Especially once the Etrick (spelling?) building is gone and more retail is present. I understand the resistance to paying for parking, but it's really not expensive. Anyone know how many public spots this garage has? Doesn't the garage on Laclede have public spots still?
The Nine North/Park East Lofts/Joseph P. Roddy garage has about 180 public spaces. The Laclede garage does allow public parking, but BJC is hesitant about putting a big Public Parking sign in front of the garage.

This is a neat project and should def. help the business along Euclid right there. I think I'm going to stop by ORSmoothie tomorrow and try it out.

The opening date for the Jimmy Johns on the ground floor has now been pushed back from late March to sometime in April. Not sure if the interior work is taking longer than excepted or what the deal is. Regardless, it's a very minor setback and won't have any negative impact on the success of Nine North Euclid... just thought I'd point it out.
Is this project finishing up? Perhaps some final photos? I'm curious to see how the two Park East projects look right next to each other. What a great addition of density to Euclid and the CWE. 
The grand opening party is in late May. It is sure to be a great time.

So I guess while Jimmy John's sandwich delivery might be freaky fast, their construction isn't.

one other nitpick, when the plants (which are in cement walled garden areas on the 3rd floor pool level) are watered, dirty water drains out and leaves a large brown trail across the otherwise very nice deck. are there any urban garden experts that can address this, is it just temporary while things get settled or will the residents deal with this from now on?
