Anyone see the house on McCausland and Plateau that was bulldozed?
Anyone have a clue why and what is going there?
I hope it is not a parking lot for the nearby establishments.
That would be my guess.

Is it on McCausland or Plateau? Is it next to a current parking lot?

If you were sitting on Olympia's patio looking straight across the street to the east, that is where it is. It looks like a house that collapsed straight down, roof to foundation. I did see a bulldozer. I hope it is not the future home of a vacant lot. My assumption is still parking lot.

The two houses north of the parking lot are owned by Olympia Investments, Inc., and both have demolition permits as of December. I just noticed the pile of rubble last night, and I can't recall if it was one or both houses.

I think parking lot is a safe bet. I've never eaten at Olympia, but from the outside it certainly doesn't look big enough to need two, much less four, city lots worth of parking.

Confirmed that this is a future parking lot site. Spoke with the restaurant.

Blogged on Dotage.

Not that they'll miss me much but I think I'll let them know that I am not impressed with the move and that it may affect my decision to patronize them.

I'm sure the neighbors are just thrilled that another parking lot is going in.
Then again, maybe they won't mind because the surrounding streets were often full on busy nights. Now they may be able to find a spot on their street. Not sure because I do live in that area.
Guess it is a double edged sword. Trade off, another ugly lot for more parking for residents.

Well crap this is bad news. Loss of residential in a stable hood for a surface parking lot. I'd like to take this opportunity to reach out to all those Greek food lovers out there that are aggravated by this parking lot expansion. Give Apollonia in the Boulevard Heights neighborhood a try. It's superior to Olympia in every way (freshness/quality) and they have ample parking in the rear of the building and along Gravois. They are located at 6836 Gravois.
